Nikon Z 50mm f/1.8 S Lens

Description

The Nikon NIKKOR Z 50mm f/1.8 S is a high-performance standard prime lens designed for photographers and filmmakers seeking exceptional sharpness, natural perspective, and beautiful image quality. Featuring a versatile 50mm focal length and a bright f/1.8 maximum aperture, this lens is ideal for portraits, weddings, events, product photography, interviews, and commercial productions. The wide aperture performs well in low-light conditions while providing greater control over depth of field, allowing subjects to stand out against softly blurred backgrounds.

Engineered for Nikon Z-mount mirrorless cameras, the lens features an advanced optical design incorporating aspherical and ED elements to minimise chromatic aberrations and colour fringing while delivering excellent resolution, contrast, and colour accuracy. Nikon’s Nano Crystal Coat helps reduce flare and ghosting, maintaining image clarity when working in challenging lighting conditions. Its natural perspective makes it particularly well suited to portraiture, lifestyle photography, and cinematic-looking video.

The lens features a multi-focus system powered by stepping motors, delivering fast, accurate, and quiet autofocus performance for both still photography and video recording. A customisable control ring provides convenient adjustment of settings such as aperture, ISO, or exposure compensation, depending on the camera configuration. Its dust- and drip-resistant construction offers added confidence when working in demanding shooting environments, making it a reliable choice for professional assignments.
